the cat is in the bag

hmmm... my cat having the 6th sense? well, yes, as I also do. I don't think she sees anything she really hates. Otherwise I would have sensed it right away if there are nasty entities surrounding the house. If there is anything she really hates, it's my other feline companion, Dodong. Moogle hates Dodong, because Dodong always wants to fuck her desperately.

At any rate, things are back to normal again. Moogle just returned yesterday afternoon. Really smart cat. She knew how to go back to our new place, considering that she's only stayed there four nights only. She must have wandered off, perhaps curious about the world outside.

You see, I got her when she was barely three months old, and she has been strictly confined to the limits of my room. She was a stray cat before. My former lover (who doesn't deserve that category, by the way) picked her up from the side of the road and decided to have pity on the poor cat, thought she needed a house, and then he went and dumped the cat on my lap for nurturing).

Yesterday, I was cleaning the house while Maria Callas was singing "Casta Diva" from Bellini's Norma. My housemate was hanging rugs outside the house when he suddenly called out, "Gilbert...". I went out to see what was going on. Lo and behold! The smartest and prettiest cat in the world is back! (No, it's not catwoman, though I wish she'd happen to pass by every now and then). She froze when she saw me. I walked up to her, but being the frantic and nervous thing that she always is, she reared away a bit. Worried that she might scuttle off again, I decided to stay put and just call out to her.

After a few "Moogie! Moogle! Moogie Woogie!" she came to me. I immediately picked her up and when I did, she struggled to break free. That cat doesn't really want to be carried like a stuff toy, you know. So I immediately stuffed her inside my room through the window. And before I finally closed the window, I checked first if Dodong is inside. Hah, he was there alright, and when he saw Moogle is back, he ran after the frantic cat.

Hay... mga pusa talaga.

Last night, things are back to normal again. As I lay down in bed, Moogle cuddled up right between my thighs, snoozing in the warmth of my crotch. And Dodong was just nearby, curled up in the nook that was my right armpit.

Last night, I slept peacefully. Again.

My heart bleeds as I gaze at the pictures of btnfelipe's absolutely beautiful cats.

Last night, at my new place in Lower Philam in Baguio City, my cat Moogle went away. Since I moved in last Sunday, she has been restless, hiding in boxes and underneath the bed amongst more boxes. She must have figured out how to open the window. She must have wanted to break free.

Why would she want to leave me? I have had her since she was 2 months old, and she's now more than 2 years old. She was my steady companion, who cuddles up in my bed every night as I go to sleep.

I'm distressed. Where could she be? Will she come back?

A Bird in the Hand?

There is an old expression 'A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush' that we accept as meaning that it is better to hang on to what you have instead of chasing after something else. Well, that works for some things, but not at this time. This belief also goes against what we are learning with the Shift, that if what we have isn't right for us we should release it so that something else can replace it. That is hard to do because it takes faith and focus and the ability to maintain our trust in the Universe to deliver what we have manifested. And we cannot be afraid that the Universe won't deliver.

Because manifestation is not always immediate, it can be difficult to let go of something if there is nothing to replace it on the immediate horizon. If we release a relationship, for example, we may have to spend some time alone before another one comes. Or if we release our job, can we trust that another situation, more suited to our skills and dreams, will be available to us? If we can't trust in this way, we will hang on to what we have until something new shows up. But letting go and having faith can be our lesson.

I'm not advocating that everyone quit their job tomorrow, but the fear that a replacement will not come immediately can cause us to hold on to something that we really need to release. The release does not have to be material, as in turning in a resignation; it can be spiritual, where we acknowledge that we are not happy and begin the process of creating something else. The energy that we are placing in holding onto a situation often holds us back from creating something else. Our willingness to acknowledge that our current reality does not meet our needs is all it takes to begin the process of release.

The process of manifestation begins when we ask, not when we receive. Asking is the easy part; trusting that we will receive is more difficult. When what we are experiencing does not bring us joy, it is time for a change. That change is easier when we acknowledge that we are ready to release and when it does go, to know that we are free to create what we really want. All we have to do is be prepared to let those things that no longer serve us move on and trust that the Universe always answers our requests. If your 'bird in the hand' is not serving your Highest Good, set it free and you will set yourself free to manifest a more joyful, loving and abundant reality.
